POP SCREEN TEE – Taran*Tee*No T-shirt Competition
Pop Screen Tee was the natural progression following the two poster-based exhibitions of Rock Screen Paper 1 and 2.
Based upon the works of Quentin Tarantino, ‘Taran-Tee-No’ was a t-shirt competition that encouraged people to print their own shirts, to collaborate, to get their art out.
This event was open to not only illustrators and designers, but to those that had an idea, a concept.
And compete for a first prize of $3000. Prizes totaled $5000 in cash, but also included kits, shirts and mentoring from some high calibre illustrators.
Entries were received from Leichhardt and Lismore, Stanmore and Scotland. It became a truly local, national and international event.
It was a huge success.
It had outgrown it’s previous venue, so in Nov 2014, Taran-tee-no was held at The Vic Hotel in Enmore, Sydney. A huge crowd, a special beer created by local brewers Young Henrys, and some incredible art meant that Print Edition created one of the most unique screen printing events in the world.
